The bottom line is that ALL animals in the Animal Rescue League shelters throughout the state, need loving homes. Unfortunately, like many non-profit businesses, not many know what goes on behind closed doors. You want to believe that the animals are safe here but the true fact is...they are not. Greed comes in many shapes, sizes, colors and other unseen forms. The big-wigs of these shelters are treated like royalty. i.e.: upper management receive FREE housing and these homes are nothing to scoff at. They are beautiful. Often huge homes with plenty of property. These homes are exempt from paying any real estate taxes due to being considered a non-benevolent society. If the monetery donations went stricktly for the well-being of the animals and the shelter, there would've been SO many healthy adoptions every year. Instead, they treat dogs & cats without any or very little compassion and if a manager comes into the shelter, having a bad day, there have been countless times when it would be taken out on an animal, especially dogs. It is at times, as if they are playing God. They will actually euthanize a dog simply because they did'nt like its owner. The list goes on and on and on with the stupid, irresponsible, barbaric ways in which they operate. It would be great if Susan Warnick and/or other respected news anchors could look into these situations and make the public aware of the ARL's Dirty Deeds. I speak from knowledge & experince about this, as I witnessed some very unspeakable things being done in the three+ years I worked there. Thank you for reading this. There are alot of painful memories that were placed on me, but all I really care about, ALL I ever cared about...is the humane treatment of these beautiful, frightened angels that deserve so much better.

Over the years, I have been blessed by the gifts of this organization. We are avid animal lovers, the ARC has helped rescue many animals. Yesterday was an example of them at their best, when a kitten had crawled through an old bulkhead of our church, and got stuck for 3 days because of an ice storm. We weren't able to get the kitten out, but ARC responded within 15 minutes to rescue her, and though initially scared, she calmed down within 5 minutes of the worker catching her. Not an easy task as she escaped and started running through a rather large church.
I have nothing but praise and thanksgiving for ARC. over the years they have always been there to help us animal lovers. ( we have 8 indoor cats, serious aninmal lovers)
